Artists Statement

Photography for me is a way to express myself, and partially, just to have fun. I don't have a specific theme or style, and I think thats why I enjoy doing what I do so much.

I love photographing different objects. If I think it would make an interesting shot, I will take hundreds of pictures of it, even though I know about three of them will turn out good. I really like to take photos from different angles, just to see how it will turn out. Most of the time, it just looks terrible and hideous, but I wasn't trying to get some amazing shot.

My pictures that I really like, I edit them my own special way. I try not to make all of them look the same. For example, when I take a photo of a flower, I like to brighten it up. To me, colorful pictures should be bright and vivid. If I want to create a different mood, I take the brightness down a bit, make the photo warm and cozy.

As you can tell if you look at some of my work, it is pretty random. The reason it's like that is because I love variety. Once I walked through an art gallery. The photos were beautiful, but they were all of horses. I decided then, that I would Start photographing everything. I believe variety and change is what really makes people happy. As with the President of the United States, my photographs will always be changing, but they will still be serving the same purpose.

Since December.

A lot of stuff has happened since my last post. Which was in December. I really haven't been bloging, and I sort of lost my motivation. My life hasn't been busy really, but I just kinda forgot about this whole thing.

In January, all I did was attend school. Which was really boring. In February, I did the same. In March, it started to get fun again. I turned 15. Saw Alice in Wonderland on my birthday. I went to a Never Shout Never concert, which was absolutley awesome. I auditioned for "The Sound of Music" and I got the role of Fredrich. All through March and April I had play practice from 6-9 PM for the play. It was exhausting, but it was totally worth it.

Also in April, Kaycee and I opened a cosmetic company called Color Clash. We make all of our products ourselves, and personally, I think they are great. We are mostly making eyeshadows, but we make blush, also. All I we have been doing is trying to get our website working. First we were using 1&1, they are terrible, don't EVER use them! After 3 weeks of frustration, we cancelled our account with them, and switched to GoDaddy. SUre, GoDaddy is really confusing at first, but it look a heck of a lot better! If you want to check us out, our site is: http://www.shop.colorclashshop.com/

I'm glad to be bloging again, it makes me feel like someone cares about what I do with my life. :D

Photography

I love photography, I like to be able to keep a memory of an event forever.
For example, my neice. My neice is adorable. Her name is Grace, and she is one year old. Everytime she comes to my house, I probably take almost a hundred pictures of her.
In my photography class, we have amazing equipment. Every computer in the room is a Mac, loaded with Photoshop CS3 or CS4, and we have 6 DSLR Canon cameras (soon to get another) My teacher is really cool, and she has us do really cool projects. Most of the students in my class don't really care about the art of photography, and they're only in there because they want an easy class to take. Half of them screw around during class, and they don't get their projects finished.
My teacher loves me, but thats probably because I am one of the only students that actually knows what real photgraphy is. Some people don't understand the difference between taking pictures, and photography. Taking pictures is simple. You point, and push. (The button.) But potography is a tad harder. You zoom, focus, adjust shutter speed and exposure, ect. You get the point, right?
Some people in my class thing that a picture of an out of focus flower they took with their phone cassifies as a photograph. Believe me, some really do. I have had pictures in art shows, they weren't the greatest, (I could do better) but I was the only person from my class, let alone my whole grade, that had photographs in it. I also got some of my photos hung in a local Starbucks. 11 of them to be exact. There was one other photgraph, and 2 drawings hung, too.
But I don't want to brag. I think I already did. Oh, well.

Java Love Cafe

My dad has always wanted to own a coffee shop.

He owned his own appliance repair shop in California. He wanted to quit working on appliances, so we moved to Arizona. When we got here, he started applying for jobs. He got a job as a security guard at the casino, but he didn't take it. He eventually began fixing appliances again. It's not something he loves, but it's something he is really good at.

He and my mom have been looking at businesses to buy lately. They came across "Java Love Cafe." My dad got really excited.

Java Love is a coffee shop in Sedona, Arizona, that is very "hippie" and laid back. They roast their own beans, and sell alot of organic foods.

Escro closes October 1st, and my dad will be the proud owner of "Java Love Cafe."

Kaycee Renee Stone. My best friend.

My best friend is amazing. It all started 3 years ago.. I was arguing with her best friend. Later we went out. That didn't work. Lol. So then we were just friends. Then 2 years ago I had lunch detention in Mrs. Johnson's room. She was in the back eating with her friends.. (they weren't in trouble) so the next day I decided to go eat with them. We ate in her room until the end of the year.

At the begining of 8th grade was when things started getting better. Sometime in September we made a music video at her house. It was really lame and eventually got deleted of YouTube. We kept hanging out.. Then she had her bday party. (that was the first time I ever heard lady gaga. lol) She called me about a week later wondering if I took $20 from her room.. I didn't. I called her later that week and asked if she found it. She said no.

From there I asked if she wanted to hang out sometime. We hung out before at the library... It was fun while it lasted. So we hung out. We eventually started talking almost every day on the phone, and we started hanging out even more.

Over the summer we hung out atleast once a week and talked to eachother about 1 hour on the phone. But we spent all day playing FarmTown and talking on Facebook. One of the most boring summers ever. But I made the coolest best friend. Kaycee.

Mario Kart

My mom is renting Mario Kart Wii for me. Probably because I got my tonsils taken out. I'm happy. My sister wants to play it with me! Yay!
